Admissions Policy and Procedure

The governing body of Leicester Sathya Sai School applies the regulations on admissions fairly and equally to all those who wish to attend this school and welcomes children from all backgrounds and abilities.

The only limitation is that of the number of places available so as not to prejudice the education of other children by allowing the numbers of children in the school to increase too much.

Visits to the school are welcomed for prospective parents, at a mutually convenient time arranged by contacting the Head teacher.

Children will be admitted into the nursery once they are three years of age.

We take children in higher classes depending on the availability of places.

Children may also be admitted to the school at other times during the year at the discretion of the management.

An application form can be obtained from the Head teacher and must be completed and submitted with proof of age and residence. Parents and children will be interviewed so that the school can determine the needs of the child and to see whether the expectations and attitudes of parents are in accordance with the ethos of the school.

Upon a parent being granted a place it is a requirement that they comply with the Home School Agreement requirements.

The average cost per child at this school is £2500 pa (Sept 2005). This amount is kept to the minimum due to volunteer participation and donations of resources. Parents are expected to contribute this amount per year. Parents with hardship issues can apply in writing to the Board of Directors for concessions.
