"...has thrived since attending the school not only in her education but also in her confiidence... "

"...she enjoys devotional singing and is always singing at home too. As a result we have all picked this up at home... "

Maya Sicotray

Since starting school in October 2004 Maya has become a much more calmer person. Her Maths has improved dramatically where before she was really struggling but now finds it easier to solve. She enjoys bhajans (hymns) and meditation in the morning and wants to get to school early so she can participate in them. She seems to have more patients now. She understands a lot more about the values, giving and sharing and is more knowledgeable about different cultures and more aware on what’s happening around the world. She has grown up a lot in the last 6 months and is more mature. The extended family can also see this. I think Maya coming to Sathya Sai School has made her into a stronger person both mentally and physically.

The success of Sathya Sai School Leicester can be measured by the confidence, happiness and laughter of the children which attend.

We feel very lucky that our children are students at the school. They look forward to school and since starting both children have blossomed academically, physically (through sporting activities), spiritually and in confidence.

Ashiki, Puja and Jesal Unadkat

Ashiki, Puja and Jesal have made vast improvements in all aspects of education since joining the school. They are all making excellent progress in English (written and spoken) and Maths and also enjoy doing their homework. The small classes and the teacher’s attention to the needs of each child has resulted in excellent exam results. In addition there is a partnership between the teacher and the parents to work together to the benefit of the child.

The children have also excelled in the physical education. All three are confident swimmers and their stamina has improved vastly. They no longer rely on watching television after school, but instead play together. The school also teaches dance, recorder and piano which the children really enjoy.

The school’s SSEHV programme is excellent for both the children and the parents, and instils all the basic human values every human being should know and live by!

The school also encourages eating fresh fruits and vegetables and this has proved a real success at home where our kids are often seen eating an apple or a carrot! The school also has its organic vegetable garden where children help to grow various fruits and vegetables.

The greatest testimony to the school is that all our children look forward to going to school and are fond of all the teachers.

Keshav Gurung Thapa

Keshav started school in October 2002 when nearly 4 years of age. We note there has been an improvement all round. He is doing well academically and enjoys doing his homework. He likes going to school where he feels safe.

He looks forward to his P.E. and swimming lessons. Keshav has become much more sensible, has shown maturity, become calmer and gained confidence. He has grown spiritually.

Anchal Gokani

I wish to say some words about my child, Anchal Gokani’s behaviour on completion of this term and after joining the Sathya Sai School Leicester.

I am very happy to see her increasing interest in attending school because she got a good companion in the school. She enjoys the activities being done at school. It also makes us wonder when she speaks SLOK(verses) with a wonderful prayer. We are also happy to see the staff’s involvement in cultivating the better culture through the ideology of SATHYA SAI BABA, which brings satisfaction to any parents who wish a better future.

We wish great prosperous developments to the school for their coming years, which will bring better fruits in our society.

Personally I thank Mr and Mrs Lim for their contribution towards the school.

Thanking you

With compliments from

Trishul, Radhika & Roshni Bhayani

Our children have been going to Sathya Sai School for 3 years now and we are very pleased with all 3 children’s progress. The main changes which we have noticed are of spiritual development and self confidence. For example Trishul has developed a strong principle base which is connected to righteousness, he will always follow this teaching and we have found he is much happier. He is now speaking out when he feels the right is not done. We have also found that he now is taking more interest in all aspects of the spiritual life. Academically we have seen a steady progress and he is definitely more confident.

Radhika has become more confident all round, she takes more interest in education. She never used to enjoy reading and now I see her reading in the evening everyday. She has also developed an interest in sports, she really enjoys any physical or sports activities and encourages us to join in and become more fit. She also tells us to stop eating unhealthy foods which is good to see and we can see this part of life had been enhanced due to the teachings at school.

Roshni has really changed in many ways, she’s more spiritual, more confident and very happy with school. She loves the school so much that come Saturdays she’ll say ‘Mum, I wish we had school on weekends as well’. In the mornings she’ll get up and everyday she would want to leave home earlier so that she could be at school, just shows how much she enjoys Sathya Sai School.

All the children wake up at 5.30am and we pray in the mornings together, before they only used to wake up early on school days, but I have now noticed that weekends and holidays are the same. They will sing bhajans and the Vedas and by the time they have finished the rest of the family are awakened by the vibrations so no alarm clocks are required!! In general we both feel very content and very happy that our children are part of Sathya Sai School and our relatives have pointed out the difference they have seen in the children in comparison to other children of the same age. We feel privileged to have the opportunity of having our children in the very special Sathya Sai School.

Trisha Patel

A small token of our heartfelt appreciation to all those who dedicatedly nurture our children everyday at the Sathya Sai School Leicester.

It is pleasing to see that instant gains are not sort after at the school instead preference is given to developing a solid and stead-fast foundation of a values based understanding and application of any activity undertaken.

The children are very clear about what is expected from them regarding the standard of school / homework and also of their behaviour both in and outside of school.

Daily contact with the staff makes it very easy to communicate and resolve any concerns.

New activities are continually sought which are fun and appropriate for the children’s development. They are introduced in a clear and disciplined manner so that they not only learn about that particular task but related life-skills are also developed.

This year our daughter has had the chance to learn to play the recorder and the piano; underpinning this was the clear understanding that regular practice is essential to progress otherwise time is being wasted.

To reinforce the benefits and as an example of practice, dance is practised in school in readiness for the next lesson and thus consolidating the understanding of ‘Time wasted is Life wasted’.

The school garden has given an opportunity for my daughter to explore how to care for nature and if done properly how that care comes back to us in the form of the lovely salads we’ve had this year.

Every so often, we see the fruits of the dedicated efforts made at school.

Our daughter has developed ‘time consciousness’, especially about getting to school on time she hurries us in the morning!

Recently she has taken to helping around the house with a variety of tasks and I must say she does them very well.

My daughter is very happy at the school, so much so that even when she is ill she would prefer to be at school.

She cries if she is unable to go to school.

May God bless you to continue the extraordinary place of learning provided for our children.
